Its unique terroir yields wines often described as the perfect blend of New World winemaking and Old World elegance and structure. Protected from Seattle’s well-known marine climate by the Cascade Mountains, rainfall in the Columbia Valley is limited to 6 – 8 inches annually. Summer temperatures average in the mid-80°s, perfect for growing classic vinifera grapes. Fall days are warm, building sugar and flavor as the grapes finish ripening; cool autumn evenings protect the grapes’ natural acidity.
