What We're Pouring, Current Vintages
2007 Boushey Vineyard Syrah We source Syrah from four exceptional vineyards; Lewis Vineyard, Stillwater Creek Vineyard, Klipsun Vineyard and Boushey Vineyard. Among all of the Syrah we sourced in 2007, the Boushey Vineyard Syrah particularly stood out as unique so we decided to bottle it as a vineyard designate wine.

Named "Wine Grower of the Year" in 2007 by Wine and Spirits magazine, Dick Boushey is one of the top wine growers in the world.  His vineyards are located in Grandview Washington and show a terroir we find significantly different from other Washington State vineyards growing Syrah.

Dick has experimented planting several different clones of Syrah (the following link has a good description of grape clones and why they are important; http://www.calwineries.com/learn/grape-growing/planting-grapes/clones. We pick two Syrah clones out of his vineyards each year, the Tablas Creek Clone and Clone #174. The fruit from both of these clones create wines that show the meaty character of Syrah found in Hermitage or St. Joseph wines out of the Rhone Valley in France. Enjoy!
