2007 Syrah - Sold Out
Washington State Syrah is an exciting and versatile wine varietal. As a blend component in Tre Fanciulli (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah), it adds complexity in the form of smoky, meaty flavors and richness as revealed in the wines's dark-ruby hue. As a single variety (co-fermented with a touch of Viognier), the JM Syrah offers rich dark-fruit flavors, and complexity derived from the terroir of the two vineyard sites we sourced the Syrah from; Lewis Vineyard and Stillwater Creek Vineyard. The oak is 50% new and 50% once used. I have a preference for aging our Syrah in predominately Russian oak (80%) with the balance being aged in French oak (20%).
