Happy Autumn everyone!  It is hard to believe how fast 2026 is going by. This year has brought our winery some very special moments including:

• Being named the “Best Winery Venue” by Washington Wedding Day.
• Having our 2018 Founders Reserve scored 97 points by the internationally acclaimed wine writer Anthony Mueller:

“Instantly impressive, the 2018 Founders Reserve is devastatingly gorgeous. The wine has ripeness levels that are pitch-perfect, offering an elegant, rich, powerful, and finessed expression. Very generous, mature, and pure, it has a refined spicy finish. I’m not spitting a drop of this out.”

• Our son Joe and daughter-in-law Maddi got married at Bramble Bump in August. We had guests dancing in a surprise rain storm; but things couldn’t have been more spectacular! 
• Working with the best team in the industry in production, events and our tasting rooms. We love our JM Family!

The 2026 harvest is just finishing as I am writing this note on October 20^th. We have two Cabernet Sauvignon lots to press off this week, and we will have everything in barrels, amphoras, our concrete egg, and our stainless tanks by the end of the week. This harvest, we picked eighty tons of fruit. Twenty percent white grapes include Viognier, Chardonnay, Vermentino and Chenin Blanc, and eighty percent reds including Cab, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Port grapes, Carménère, Mourvèdre, and Cab Franc. It was an early vintage, and the flavors are amazing on everything. I am very hopeful that 2026 will be recognized as a classic when the wines are bottled.  

We are excited to share some tastes of the 2026 harvest at the release party in November. If you aren’t able to make the release event, be sure to stop by in the coming months to try a splash or two! I think you will be surprised how good they are already.
