The 2021 Louisa is a loving tribute to John’s mother who thought every wine John made was the best wine of all time. Margaret’s Vineyard Merlot and Cabernet Franc bring delicate floral aromas and warm red berry flavors to this classic Bordeaux blend. Tannins are balanced and substantial without overpowering, making the 2021 Louisa an excellent pairing for flavorful meals like spaghetti bolognese, mushroom risotto, and seafood paella. We think it tastes like home.

The 2021 Thirty Six Degree truly represents the beauty and spirit of Shaw Ridge Vineyard- a vineyard near the top of Red Mountain where rock is plentiful, soil is basically non-existent, and the sustained winds can blow up to 100 mph. The fruit grown on Shaw ridge eloquently expresses a minerality unique to the site. The explosion of blackberry rich Syrah, peppery Mourvèdre, and strawberry jam Grenache create a versatility perfect for our diverse PNW cuisine. Pair with fish tacos, pulled pork sliders, or black bean burgers. The Thirty Six Degree is also a great “happy hour red” - especially when served slightly chilled paired with chips and salsa or veggies and hummus.

Carmenérè is a unique grape, originating in Bordeaux, but found mostly in Chile these days. We planted our Carmenérè in Margaret’s Vineyard in 2007, but John’s first vintage of Carmenérè was 2007, sourced from Seven Hills Vineyard. Our 2022 Carmenérè includes Margaret’s Vineyard Carmenérè , and Seven Hills Carmenérè from the same block we picked from in 2007. The 2022 vintage of this wine has the rich dark pepper character unique to the Carmenérè grape. Aged for eighteen months in 60% new French oak, this wine drinks beautifully now but should age well for 10+ years. Enjoy!

The 2021 Tre Fanciulli is a really special wine. Composed of 100% Red Mountain fruit (the Cab Sauv hails from Shaw Vineyards and the Merlot and Syrah from Ciel du Cheval & Quintessence Vineyards), this premium red blend shows aromas of vanilla and cherry, a deep ruby color and features an incredible dark fruit core, a savory richness and a beautiful, long-lasting finish.

Our old vine Syrah is sourced from two of Washington’s most prestigious vineyards, Ciel du Cheval and Champoux vineyards. These vines, planted over two decades ago, produce a striking full bodied Syrah with excellent depth of character and bold flavors of black plum and tobacco. In the Rhone tradition, John co-fermented this Syrah with 3% Viognier to produce a deep purple wine with beautiful dark cherry aromas. The Old Vine Syrah is delicious now and pairs well with lamb skewers, tandoori chicken, and rich vegetable ragout.
