Classic right bank Bordeaux wines feature Merlot and Cabernet Franc. We began crafting Champoux Vineyard Right Bank in 2017, and each vintage since has consistently showcased the exceptional qualities of this renowned Washington State vineyard, earning 93 points or better from international wine critics year after year. Fruit-forward and evolving through the finish, the Merlot shows a beautiful Bing cherry aroma and flavor, while the Cabernet Franc provides depth and an herbaceous character, reminiscent of some of the great right bank Bordeaux wines of France.
A loving tribute to Johnâs mother, the 2023 Louisa features Margaretâs Vineyard Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Louise loved Merlot and thought every wine John made was his best wine yet. Cabernet Franc balances rich fruit with a white pepper spice creating a layered and memorable experience. Merlot brings delicate floral aromas and flavors of black cherry and plum. Smooth tannins add complexity and ageability. Pair with grilled meats, herb roasted poultry, and stuffed green peppers.
Friendship. Devotion. Unwavering loyalty. This blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre is a loving tribute to Billy Bigelow, winery dog extraordinaire and faithful companion to the Bigelow family for more than 14 years. But it also reflects something deeper and just as meaningful: the quiet, steady loyalty of the JM Cellars community who has grown alongside this winery, vintage after vintage. Just like Billy never left John and Peggyâs sides, our wine club members have stood with us through harvests, new releases, and changing seasons, showing up year after year to share in what we create. The Loyal is our way of raising a glass to that kind of relationship, the kind built on trust, time, and shared moments. The steep slopes of Red Mountain, where long, hot summer days and cool nights shape bold, inky Syrah and spicy, fruit-forward Mourvèdre, delivered remarkable fruit in 2022. For a young vineyard to produce such exceptional grapes speaks to both the unique ridge-top terroir and the care and stewardship of Shaw Vineyards. Harvested on the same day, the two varieties were co-fermented in stainless steel and aged in French oak. Syrah brings structure and age-worthy tannins, while Mourvèdre adds fresh bramble berry and black pepper, all carried by balanced acidity and layers of spiced plum, blueberry, and tobacco that are deeply satisfying right now. Pair with slow-roasted meats, grilled vegetables, or soft cheeses, and enjoy with the people and moments that remind you why loyalty, whether in a dog, a family, or a wine community, is something worth celebrating. đžđˇ
The 2023 âCab IIIâ combines the very best of three diverse vineyards and AVAâs, making a bold argument that Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon remains the cornerstone of our regionâs winemaking legacy. Bold color, big blackberry flavor, spicy vanilla and mouth watering minerality- rounded out by solid, yet approachable, tannins evolve on the palate to create a âwowâ factor. This wine will age beautifully for 15+years, but why wait? Crack it open now and enjoy it with your favorite burger, grilled steak, roasted root vegetables, and bold cheeses. Cin Cin!
Showcasing fruit from three of Washingtonâs most notable vineyards, Ciel du Cheval, Champoux, and Stillwater Creek Vineyards, the 2022 Old Vine Syrah is a luscious, full-bodied Syrah. This vintage represents some of the most delicious and timeless Syrah grown across three different AVAâs of the Columbia Valley. In the RhĂ´ne tradition, John co-fermented the Syrah with 3% Viognier. A process known as co-pigmentation produces a deep purple wine with lingering dark cherry aromas. The 2022 Old Vine Syrah is delicious now and will continue to age well over the next decade and longer. The bold, blue fruit flavors of blueberry, plum, and mountain huckleberry transition into a robust, spicy mid-palate, lingering toward a memorable finish. The Old Vine Syrah pairs well with rich cuts of meat, wild mushrooms, and international rice and noodle dishes. Raise a glass on its own for a truly indulgent treat, or share a bottle around the table with loved ones.
