Inspired by White Pinot Noir, this unique wine gets its name from its delicate style. We whole-cluster pressed the Cinsault and fermented the juice in stainless steel for thirty days, resulting in a luminous golden hue. On the palate, it offers vibrant notes of white peach and honeydew melon, balanced by bright acidity and a rich, juicy, and textured finish, leaving a lasting impression. This special, limited production wine is crafted from fully mature Cinsault grapes, sourced from Wallula Gap (The Benches) Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills.
Each harvest, John looks forward to working with fruit grown by Dick & Luanne Boushey, some of the nicest folks youâll meet in the vineyards of the Yakima Valley. Premium fruit tended to with care and hard work by their vineyard crews translates into distinctive wines with an elegant âearthinessâ that is quintessentially âBousheyâ. Barrel fermenting and aging our 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Boushey Vineyard has allowed it time to evolve into a white wine with soft flavors of white peach and melon. A balance of predominately neutral French oak and thoughtfully monitored aging means this Sauvignon Blanc possesses delicate notes of jasmine and pear, a silky smooth transition from midpalate to finish, and a refreshing acidity. This style of Sauvignon Blanc pairs well with lighter meat dishes, poultry, herb-driven sauces, and Asian dishes.
The name Las Piedras is Spanish for âthe stonesâ. Our estate vineyard, the stunning Margaretâs Vineyard, is located on a north slope, rising 1,200 feet above the valley floor in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. The southwest corner of Maragaretâs Vineyard is essentially all fractured basalt with very little topsoil. We planted Syrah and Mourvèdre in this location, and the calcium carbonate found in the fractured basalt translates into a beautiful minerality in the wine. The three components of this classic GSM blend contribute to an inviting and layered experience. Grenache from Ciel du Cheval Vineyards, in the heart of the Red Mountain AVA, brings bright, fruity freshness with flavors and aromas of dark cherry and raspberry. Margaretâs Vineyard Syrah adds depth of character, a rich softness mid-palate, and a memorable finish with subtle notes of black spice. Margaretâs Vineyard MourveĚdre is jammy and juicy with a mid-palate of dark cherry and cacao. MourveĚdre possesses an earthy minerality, shaping the backbone of the wine. We think this GSM blend is yummy and one of our very best wines to date, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Perhaps the wine that best summarizes Johnâs winemaking style and commitment to family, each vintage of Tre Fanciulli is truly a special wine. An Italian expression meaning âthree treasured boysâ, Tre Fanciulli is aptly named in honor of John and Peggyâs three beloved sons â Jack, Tommy & Joe â and each son represents a grape variety in the blend. The 2022 vintage is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and 23% Syrah and is composed of 100% Red Mountain fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon from Shaw Vineyard and Merlot and Syrah from Ciel du Cheval Vineyard create a premium red blend expressing aromas of vanilla and cherry and features an incredible balance of bold red fruit, approachable tannins, and a savory, rich finish.
Dick and Luanne Boushey grow some of the best fruit in Washington State and the 2022 vintage was no exception. Clone 174 Syrah, with origins in Hermitage in the RhoĚne Valley of France, was hand harvested and sorted, foot stomped, and fermented in large French oak tanks. In the Rhone tradition, we co-fermented the Syrah with 3% Viognier from Stillwater Creek Vineyard. The process of co-fermentation maximizes the dazzling fruit aromas and the dark purple hue of Syrah. The 2022 Boushey Syrah possesses luscious raspberry and blackberry notes from glass to finish. The earthy characteristics we admire in Boushey fruit are present throughout this well-structured wine that can be savored alongside dishes like herbed flatbreads, slow-roasted meats, and homemade pasta. Also to be enjoyed during fireside chats.
